Perfect Day Yarns - Frequently Asked Questions

I update when I can, there is no set date or time. My first job is as stay-at-home mom, my children are young and my husband works different hours week from week, sometimes I go an entire week with no time or energy to dye, even though I would like to. This is also why I dye & stock in small batches. I apologize for not keeping the shop as stocked and updated as I would like. Please be patient with me as I am just one dyer with many jobs, thank you.

I do mention in the blog when I am aiming for an update & when the shop has been restocked I send out a mailing list.

We ship via USPS Priority mail within the US and First Class mail for International Orders.

Shipping and Handling for orders under $50 are:
US- $5.00
Canada- $5.50
International- $9.00

Shipping is free for orders over $50.

Large custom orders/wholesale orders are excluded from free shipping.

When orders for small and/or light weight items (stitch markers, up to 12 mini skeins, etc) are placed shipping will be reduced and the difference will be refunded back to your paypal account after your order has been placed.

Is there sales tax? TOP
I am based in OH, therefor all Ohio orders are subject to sales tax.

Yarn must be returned within 14 days of receipt of order, buyer will have to pay for return shipping. A refund, less the shipping cost, will be issued through paypal once the product is returned. Yarns must be returned in original, unused and undamaged condition. Yarn that has been knitted or wound into a ball can not be returned.

I try hard to take accurate pictures but I am not a professional photographer. Some colors are harder for me to photograph as well. Also, please keep in mind that all monitors display colors differently. On my monitor the colors may be spot on but may look off on yours.

I handpaint, dip dye, immersion dye, rainbow dye & etc., one skein at a time. I like variety. :D Each skein is unique.

I also tend to fly by the seat of my pants. I do not keep extensive notes on my dyeing. I do write down which colors make up which colorway but that is all. One skein of Colorway A may contain more green then another skein of Colorway A for example. Each skein is plenty for an adult size pair of socks (and other small projects) so the discrepancy in skeins is not really important.

Can I use your pictures? TOP
Sure! However, please do not hotlink. Also, please acknowledge that the picture is form Perfect Day Yarns, I really do spend a lot of time and take hundreds of pictures to get accurate pictures of the yarns you will be purchasing. Please also remember that each new skein is individually photographed, so if you use a photo that was not posted at the time of your purchase it may not accurately portray the skein you own. Each skein in colorway varies since they are individually hand-dyed. For further info or questions about using a picture(s) please contact me at info@perfectdayyarns.com

I'm sorry but as of April 1st we will no longer be taking orders for custom colorways until further notice, thanks for your interest!

Interested in a sold out colorway? TOP
Colorways will be added often, if you are jonsing for a certain colorway and just can't wait please contact me and we will talk, most likely I will be able to reserve a colorway for you in the next update. However, I can not guarantee I will be able to fulfill requests for sold out colorways. Also, some colorways are happy accidents and can not be duplicated, I will let you know if you request one of these.

What about knots in the yarn? TOP
I don't like knots. Who likes knots? But, inevitably some skeins will contain a knot, but never more than one.

Secret pal type of exchanges are very popular right now. If you would like to place an order to be sent to your secret pal as a surprise please leave us a not in the "Comments" box when checking out.

Please include: what swap/occasion the order is for, the recipients name and address, and who it is from, "Your Secret Pal", "your secret Admirer", etc.

For days I tried to think of the perfect name. Then one day I woke up and it was the first words out of my mouth and I knew it was The name. Oddly enough that's how we decided on our son's middle name too.
